Kathmandu Valley
The Himalaya mountains are spectacular to look at. It never bores me to look
at those big white mountains beeing more three times as high as the hills in
front of you. Though not a very close distance the himalaya mountain view from
the Kathmandu Valley is very good. There are various spots in the valley where
you have a beautiful panoramo. The most famous ones are Nagarkot and Dulhikel.
These two villages on the east side of the Kathmandu Valley have plenty of
hotels where you can stay the night over and enjoy the scenery. Mountain views
are good between november and april. December early January might be the best in
the last few years. When there are clouds you can only see the mountains arround
sunrise and sunset. On good days in December and January you can see
the mountains all day, as well as in September / Oktober if there are cyclons or
huricanes in the Bengal sea. Besides Nagarkot and Dulhikel there are many more
good places to see the mountains. In the south side of the Kathmandu Valley you
have the best panorama. The adventure camp in Lakuri Bhanjhyang is a good spot,
though you don't need to go that high, the southern roads between Godavari and
Bhaktapur all have amazing mountain views. If it is a clear day rent a cycle and
stroll the roads.
