Gods - Kathmandu Valley

The Kathmandu is home to many Gods, most famous is Shiva´s form of Pashupatinath, but also Ganesh in the form of Suryavinayaka dwells the forrests of the Valley. Other famous gods like, Vishnu, Brahma, Hanuman & Indra have visited the Valley as described in the Nepal-Mahatmya. Also Buddha has been in the according to old sanskrite scriptures. Most interresting are the living Godesses, the Kumari's of Bhaktapur en Kathmandu.

Besides that all statues or even pictures of gods that had certain rituals and offerings performed by priests / devotees are since that moment the god itself.

Making a statue in a temple for example the elephant headed Ganesh is nobody less than Ganesh itself.
