Animals of the Kathmandu Valley

Like in the rest of Nepal, a lot of different animals can be found in the Kathmandu Valley. Wild animals and cultivated animals like cows, buffalo´s ducks and a lot of (street) dogs. In this Picture we see a water Buffalo relaxing in a pool while two ducks also enjoy the water. The ducks are kept for their eggs which are sold to breeding centers. Some duck keepers keep more than 100 ducks who scatter around the places where they belong. To prevent the ducks from flying away the wings are cut.
